Form Format Differences
Formville forms are available in three formats. Not all forms will be available in every format, but
it can be confusing (at first) to know which format you should choose. Here's how to make your
decision.
- Every form in Formville is availabe as a free, downloadable PDF. This version is great when you
need a form right now to finish your work. It can save you from a bind
and help spur your imagination as you create your own forms. In this format, the form is free; you
simply need to agree to our Terms of Use in order to download.
- Some Formville forms are available in Microsoft Word format. These are standard
Word documents (DOC format) that you can use in all versions of Word or in other word processors
that can read Word documents. The form is fully editable so you can change it to
meet your specific needs. There is a minimal charge for forms in this format, but you can
immediately download them and put them to use right away.
- Some Formville forms are available in Excel format. This is a standard
Excel workbook (XLS format) that you can use in all versions of Microsoft Excel or in other
spreadsheet programs that can load Excel workbooks. The form is fully editable
so you can change it to create exactly the form you need. There is a minimal charge for forms
in this format, but you can immediately download them and put them to use right away.
If there are both Word and Excel versions of a particular form, the Word versions often cost less
than the Excel versions. Why? Because the Excel versions normally include formulas that do automatic
calculations for you. This means that they take a bit longer to develop than the Word versions, but
they also provide you with more value.
Which format should you choose? It depends on how you want to use the form and how much you
value your time. All of our forms—regardless of format—can save you time. If your
goal is to create your own customized form, you will save a ton of money with either the Word
or Excel versions of our forms. (The majority of our forms, if they come in Word or Excel format,
are available for $7.49 or less each. How much is your time worth?)
